A big thank you to previous groups who helped to raise $10,000 towards the park! These funds were used to fund the tree removal on the site!
A gathering place for pets and their people.
We are now in the fundraising stage of the dog park project. With your help our park can become a reality in 2023. Help us transform the former Wheelock Park Campground into the Keene Dog Park

Project Updates
February 2024:
Work completed:
The dog park has undergone the necessary safety tree removal from Phil's Tree Service! All trees that were removed were only trees that were posing safety risks due to age/decay.
The prep work has been completed, and we had then paused construction in order to focus on hitting our fundraising goal over the fall.
We are happy to share that we are within $500 of hitting our goal!
Next steps:
Our project is open for bid with the town, with a due date of 2/20 for bid close. Once the bid has been awarded, work can begin!

Fundraising Goal:
$140,000
Park construction will happen in two phases:
Phase One includes all demolition, tree removal, signage, and fencing, seating & dog fountains.
Phase Two will feature"extras" to enhance the space, including agility equipment and a pavilion.
Keene Dog Park will feature two separate areas, a designated small dog space and an all dogs space.
Dogs Bring People Together.
A dog park in Keene will be a place not only for dogs to socialize but a way to bring our community together. We hope you'll join us in bringing this much-needed amenity to our community at Wheelock Park.
Please consider making a donation to the project today!
